Fort Myers, Florida - This week, a young boy was rescued when trapped in a sewer in Lee County.

According to the South Trail Fire and Rescue Services Department, there were reports that a child playing on a pile of concrete sewer slipped and got stuck in his legs and feet. South Trail firefighters then rushed to the scene.

The incident occurred in a construction area at 5521 Seventh Avenue in Pine Manor Community.

Firefighters from Iona McGregor Fire District and Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District also rushed to the scene.

Firefighters said that rescuers tried to rescue the boy using water, lubricants and other methods, and then began to chisel through the concrete pipe.

Before the staff began to take apart the pipes, the child was given earmuffs, goggles and blankets.

According to STFD, in the end, the boy only scratched his knee and got out of the pipe safely.
