The Peruvian company, Grupo Hidráulica, which represents international brands of pipes, valves, and connections, opted in March 2021 to open its Premium Plast factory in Villa El Salvador, beginning to produce high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes from a diameter up to 250 millimeters;and now it plans to go for more in line with its growth plan, its general manager, Franco Guazzotti, told Management. Thus, he revealed that in order to triple their production capacity and expand their supply, they have moved to a 6,500-square-meter facility in Lurín, where they will produce 600 tons per month of HDPE pipes from a diameter up to 630 millimeters."Expanding diameter capacity will allow us to close more orders, and grow in the sanitation sector, as well as serve open pit mining companies that use large pipes," Guazzotti said.He explained that this year the sanitation sector is expected to represent 40% of its sales;and the miner 60%, since today it is 80%.These actions will help the company, which has been in the market for more than 30 years, to grow around 20% in its sales this year compared to 2019 (pre-pandemic).And after consolidating the production and marketing of HDPE pipes, they are considering starting to produce corrugated polyethylene pipes, which will allow them to serve sectors such as construction and agriculture, said the executive.Do you plan to export your HDPE pipes?Franco Guazzotti indicated yes, and for this reason they will seek to sell them in the Central American markets, and others in Latin America, in the short term.“We are already trading in Bolivia, including in countries like Haiti, Costa Rica;a project can come out at any moment”, he noted. But, in addition, the company plans to reach other countries such as Panama and Spain, where they have already opened offices to attend projects outside of Peru, with the pipe brands they represent (around 45).
