As the tomato plant grows, I twist it around the string to support it

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Our vegetable gardens have gotten a crash course in Northeast Ohio summer weather the past couple of weeks—high winds, even higher temperatures, and relative drought have all combined for a stressful situation for tender young plants.

When we’re not strong, as the song goes, we all need someone to lean on. That goes for vegetable plants too.
