Delhi Water and Industry Minister Satyendar Jain instructed officials to ensure that no households discharge waste into nearby drains or the Yamuna River.

The minister met with officials of the board of directors of the JAL in Delhi to formulate a long-term strategy for cleaning the Yamuna River.

During the meeting, important decisions were made on water pollution, rainwater and sewage mixing, and wastewater collection and treatment improvements.

At the meeting, it was decided that the board of directors of Delhi JAL will now directly provide domestic water without an intermediary.

“The officials of the Delhi-Nikko board of directors were instructed to act quickly on the issues raised during the meeting. Different policies were decided and a timetable was set,” said Satyendar Jain.

Jainism also instructed all officials to work together on the basis of war to solve the problem of water pollution.

“By June 2022, all households in the sewer area will be connected to the sewer network. This will discharge all rainwater into the STP. DJB will implement the project at its own expense under the Mukhyamantri sewer connection Yojana,” said Satiendar Chi That teaches.

He also instructed Delhi Jal board officials to complete the project within six months in order to transfer the wastewater to STP for treatment, and only clean water can flow into the river.

In order to track the progress of these projects, we will also conduct monthly evaluations.

Jal Board will use cutting-edge technologies such as cutting machines, prefabricated structures and HDPE (high-density polyethylene) pipes to complete the project in one-third of the time.

In order to minimize the inconvenience to the public and speed up the completion of the project, the government has issued instructions on the use of cutting-edge technology for pipeline laying.

DJB currently uses outdated digging methods, which can cause incidental damage to the work site and require a lot of repair time.

By March 31, 2022, all points where the sewer connects to the storm drain will be disconnected to prevent sewage water from being discharged into the storm drain.

DJB officials were also instructed to investigate and compile a list within one month, listing all the new and old points where the sewer line connects to the storm drain.

Jain also directed an assessment of all sewer leaks, blockages and overflows. Priority must be given to monitoring all sewage treatment issues.

"At the meeting with the board of directors of Nikko Delhi, it was decided to replace all broken pipes or sewers to reduce leakage. All plans should be made as soon as possible so that the work assignments can be completed within the specified time," Satyendar Jain said.

"Water pipes must be thoroughly monitored to ensure that leaks are minimized and repaired as needed. All damaged or cracked manhole covers must be repaired or replaced," he added.

Delhi JAL board officials have been instructed to complete the ongoing sewer trunk line work before the monsoon season.

By June 2022, a total of 200 kilometers of mainline sewers will be dredged.

In order to solve the problem of sewer overflow, blockage and smooth transportation, DJB instructed officials to clean all main sewers (pipes greater than 900 mm in diameter) and peripheral sewers (450 mm to 900 mm in diameter) six months before the onset of the monsoon.
